Imagine placing a pair of reading glasses on the face of an elderly woman, and watching her read her Bible for the first time in decades. Or watching the expression of a nearsighted man whose entire life was a blur before he received his first pair of glasses. It is for stories such as these our vision program was created by board members, Marcia McGinnis.
As part of our general medical clinics, we travel to needy villages each day to seek out those struggling to see in their daily life due to imperfect vision. Our vision team sets up the proper equipment to do vision screenings and fit each patient with prescription eyeglasses. We welcome any volunteers in Optometry and appreciate any donations of reading glasses, prescription glasses or sunglasses that are still in wearable condition.
